It’s been months now since this movie came out but to my surprise, or despise, it hasn’t been released here in the Philippines yet. Or maybe it already did and I just missed it. Anyway, don’t really care since I just saw it.

Let the battle begin!

Scott Pilgrim, a jobless bass player for the band Sex Bob-Omb (homage to the Super Mario villain Bob-Omb) must defeat the 7 evil EXes of his new girlfriend (and girl of his dreams — literally) Ramona Flowers. His struggle to fight for the love of his life is mixed with conflicts with his ex-girlfriend (whom he dumped for Ramona) Knives Chau, and his band’s goal of winning battle of the bands contests and getting signed by renowned indie music producer (and master evil ex) Gideon Graves.

Iron Man goes to Japan

Iron Man hits Japan

Sony and Madhouse join up to produce a chain of Marvel titles in Japan. The first one to finish production is Iron Man. So I’ve seen two episodes now and I have to say, it’s quite amazing.

This anime borrows a lot from the Iron Man movies. You can see this a lot in the opening sequence and when Tony Stark suits up in his armor, as well as the Arc energy source. The character of Tony Stark also takes a lot from his character in the movie: a womanizing, cocky industrialist.

Gabriel Belmont - on a path to darkness

So I finally finished Castlevania: Lords of Shadow on the PS3. Took me around three weeks to finish the game in the knight mode and I died too many times it’s pathetic. I finished Uncharted 1 and two at about two weeks each and I was surprised how long Lords of Shadow was. It is a long game. Its 12 chapters consist of a variety of levels and the replay value is quite excellent. There are many levels you have to go back to acquire upgrades that needed other upgrades to get.

This is an extremely fun game. Not for kids though. It is gory and it contains some nudity (seen in monsters sadly). Many have compared it to God of War for the obvious game play of using a bunch of buttons in quick time events, combo upgrades, and many others. For those who have played God of War or it’s direct rip-off Dante’s Inferno, Lords of Shadow will be a familiar territory. But mind you, it is a very very different game.

Back to WordPress.com!

Posted: October 22, 2010 in Geekaboids

After long months of being inactive in blogging, I finally decided to add posts again to my previous blog, hosted in a free site, 0fees.net. I was surprised that their WordPress function was not available anymore for their free subscription. 0fees completely screwed up the database and all my entries, or my entire WordPress site for that matter, got obliterated. Yes, it’s all gone. Not that I have that many readers for that matter but my precious posts are all gone… Just when I was in the mood to do some writing again. Anyway, back here again. Screw the ads and the limitations of the free subscription. Got me into writing mode again so here we go!
